Route: Whitelee Waterside Circuit

Length:16 miles

Track: Hard gravel track, minor roads – suitable for MTB/hybrids

This route starts from the carpark at the Whitelee Windfarm visitor centre. Join the track in front of visitor centre, and go down the hill. Turn right at the bottom and follow the track to the Spine Road. Turn right, and follow the track to till you exit the Windfarm – turn left on to the B764. Carry on till you meet the A77 cycle track, turning left.  After a mile or so, turn right along the A719, following the sign to Waterside, crossing over the A77.  Continue through Waterside. Just outside the village, take a left along a single track road (at a crossroads with a private road on the other side).  Cycle along this road – when you get to the trees, keep them on your left, carry straight on when the road forks to the right. Continue till you reach the gate – go through this and you are back in the wind farm. Carry on through the Whitelee Forest till you reach the Spine Road, then turn left, and follow the track until you reach the track that you can down from the visitor centre, turn right back up this track which will take you back to the start point, and refreshments in the cafe!
